It Wasn’t Just A House

We talk a lot about home on this blog so I thought it was important to share this part of my life with you. We put our childhood home on the market in the beginning of April, and it has been a gut-wrenching process. As someone who truly loves home and then add in 46 incredible years of memories in one place, it has been one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I know it seems silly but it has felt like I am saying good bye to my childhood; to my mother, my father, my sister, the memories and our home at all once.

Hey there friends! I thought I would pop in and share some thoughts on appreciating the home you have. I think it is so easy to get discouraged by the beautiful & perfect images we see online, many times it leaves us with the idea that what we have isn’t enough. I think deep down we know it is enough but we get sucked in and play the comparison game. And we all know that comparison is the thief of joy.

As some of you may know I have been participating in a rug challenge over on Annie Selke’s Instagram feed (aka Dash & Albert).  They are taking the top 10 and producing them under a “Blogger Collection.” I would love this opportunity more than you know, it would be a dream come true to say the least. This rug challenge has really got me thinking about desire, dreams, humility, gratitude & grace and taking my own advice.
