New Sneakers + How Struggle Has Made Me More Appreciative

Hi there friends! Last week was our mid-winter break and we headed up to Newport, RI for a little R & R. The weather was amazing, it felt like Spring was right around the corner. The sunshine and warm temps definitely brought a happy vibe. It’s a favorite spot for us, summer is fantastic but winter is peaceful and quiet, just my speed. It was the perfect spot to unwind and play for a few days.
This is not your typical design post but I thought it was super important to share. Many of you have no idea but I have been struggling with something concerning my health for about 4 years now. I have had an array of symptoms that could have easily been mistaken for many aliments and I think that is why it has been tough to nail down. If you are chronically tired, weak, dizzy, thirsty, lack focus, have heart palpitations, anxiety then you need to read this!!!
The holiday break went by way too fast, didn’t it?! There was so much build up & prepping and then poof, it was over. With the work load of the blog, projects, house tours and activities for the boys before hand, I was REALLY READY for some down time. I was in super speedy mode for weeks before hand, I am sure you were as well. Phew, I panic just thinking about all of it. Being away I realized some things….
I am off to Haven tomorrow so I thought I would pop in before I left. This is my 2nd year going and I am super excited. For anyone who isn’t familiar with this blogging conference, its focus is DIY and decorating & let me just say this is such an amazing experience if you are a blogger whose focus is that. The nice thing is everyone is in the same genre, so there is so much to talk about, blog goals, techniques, SEO, decorating, DIY but for me the best part are those little conversations I get to have with friends old and new that make me feel connected and a part of something much bigger.
Today is the last day of school for my boys and it feels bittersweet. It has been a great year and although I do know all good things must come to an end, I guess a part of me doesn’t want to fully recognize that they are growing up and getting bigger. It’s all going by too fast. I am trying to hold on so tight to this time together because I want to always remember the pure joy I feel. I have written so often how important it is for me to “be present” because I know from the personal experience of loss that these small moments of time are such a gift.
I have been wanting to write this post for while and each time I sat down to write it, I changed my mind & decided to write a different post. Writing personal posts are hard for so many…
