Hi, I’m Jennifer! I write small, beach town romance and women’s fiction set in the Hamptons
and the North Fork of Long Island with good design and lots of heart. Think Something’s Gotta
Give meets Something Borrowed.

I am a design blogger, iced coffee enthusiast, a writing podcast superfan, a reformed perfectionist, and a late bloomer trying to live my best second act.

When I am not busy being a mom, you’ll find me stirring up trouble with my small group of girlfriends, rummaging through thrift stores and antique stores, binge-watching Netflix, or curled up with a good beach read.

In 2020 I finished my first novel, THE HOUSE THAT FIXED ME, as a tribute to my late sister. Redefining what it means to be a late bloomer and how seasons can sometimes surprise you.

I’ve just finished my second novel, HOUSE IN BLOOM. It’s set in a small coastal town with a reality television influence, incredible old house details, and beautiful, storied gardens with love at the center of it all.

A Little More About Me

I’ve loved home for as far back as I can remember. Long before my love affair with decorating started, it was simply a sense of belonging that felt different from home to home. I am a third-generation DIY-er, yup, that’s right, even before it was a thing. On her days off from the phone company, my grandmother would restore a piece of furniture by day and make the most delicious homemade fettuccini by hand at night. My mother stripped and painted furniture she found at yard sales, sewed clothes and costumes, and loved her ceramics.

City Farmhouse was founded in 2011 with the intention of crafting a creative career while balancing life as a stay-at-home mom. The goal was to build a resourceful platform to inspire other home enthusiasts to embrace the idea that a loving home takes time to bloom. What I didn’t expect was the flood of incredible opportunities with well-known brands and magazines that came along with it. As a designer, style expert, and photographer, I learned skills that I could have never learned in a classroom. The cherry on top was meeting the most supportive group of creative women.

I have written for BHG.com on their Style Spotter column for two years and have worked exclusively with Sherwin-Williams, Pottery Barn, Target, Starbucks, Minwax, and Lowe’s. I’ve also collaborated with Article, Joss + Main, Birch Lane, Wayfair, Minted, Rebuilding Together, BHG, and Annie Selke. My work has been published in Better Homes & Gardens, Boston Globe, Cottages and Bungalows, This Old House, Christmas Ideas, and Farmhouse Christmas. I even made an appearance on Rachael Ray a few years ago, launching me into yet another public niche. I have been named a Stylemaker by BHG for the last seven years, an honor only given to a small group of influencers.
