String Art On My Office Wall

Hello City Farmhouse friends! It’s Emily here again from The Wicker House! I have a really cool project that I am excited to share with you today, string art on the wall.
Sometimes ideas come to me in the middle of the night and I lay in bed thinking, “Wow! That’s an awesome idea, did I just come up with that?” But truthfully I feel like the inspiration comes from another place and that it is up to me to create it and share it, therefore the credit does not belong to me, but to the universe :). This string art wall project was one of those middle of the night ideas.

DIY Modern Coastal Art-Using An IPhone Picture

The beach is our happy place so when designing Jack’s room I knew I wanted a modern coastal feel and since he LOVES ocean life it was a win, win for both of us. I am not much of a theme person when it comes to design but I did want to bring in coastal elements in a modern way, yet still have it be fun & playful for Jack, who just turned 6. I also wanted it to be meaningful and a great way to do this is by adding DIY art. I saw THIS print and knew I could create something myself that had significance for our family. I started scrolling down my iPhone pictures from last summer, looking for the right seascape and colors & bingo, I found it-the one. I knew it would be perfect for my DIY Modern Coastal Print.
Are you ready to make some DIY art? This entire process is SO easy! I kid you not, if I can do it, then so can you! Here is how to create your own modern coastal print….

Reclaimed Wood Shed Sign

As promised I am sharing more sources and details from my Hamptons Inspired Backyard Reveal. I have had a ton of questions about my reclaimed wood letters on my freshly updated white farmhouse shed. I am excited to finally share this shop with you, it is called Plane & Saw and it’s on ETSY of course. ETSY has become a great resource for unique, one of a kind items that are hand crafted without the high designer price tag. In case you missed my backyard reveal you can click the image below….

Haven Mentor-Lets Meet In Person

I have some fun news to share! I will be heading back to Haven this year as a mentor!!! Last year I had the honor of being a part of this incredible event in which I spoke about design & decorating with THIS amazing blogger and friend. To say it was fun, exciting & inspiring doesn’t do it justice. It was so much more than just a conference for me, so to be asked again to be a part of it on this level is both humbling and super exciting.

DIY Mudcloth Pillows Using A Paint Swatch

I have been loving the look of hand dyed indigo & mudcloth pillows lately. Recently I bought a few indigo pillows from THIS Esty shop and they are beautiful. So I thought it might be fun to pair them with a fun DIY to complement the look. The best part, these mudcloth pillows cost just $6 each, which is a nice way to balance a splurge.

Hamptons Inspired Small Backyard Reveal

Hi there friends! I have partnered with Lowe’s to bring you a backyard makeover inspired by the Hamptons. This reveal has been 5 years in the making, so I am beyond thrilled to be sharing it with you today! And what better time than the spring to share it, well almost:). When we first walked into our backyard, even though we were warned by our realtor we were a little shocked. It was small, really small, and to be honest it made me nervous. But…that quickly subsided as we walked through and saw the beautiful bay view and the rather large privet hedge. Sold, that was it and I have been plotting and planning this space ever…
