Are you ready for more outdoor living ideas? I am joining a few talented bloggers today for the last week of the Outdoor Extravaganza hosted by my friend Shauna at Satori Design for Living. This week is Paint & Build, so I thought I would share a simple update I did with a clearance item found last year at Lowe’s with paint.
Hi there friends, welcome to part 1 of my summer home tour! I am thrilled to be a part of Julie’s Celebrate Summer House Tour, if you are coming from My Sweet Savannah, it is so nice to have you here, her home is such a treat to tour, isn’t it?! This blog hop has some of my favorite bloggers in it and I have enjoyed touring each home myself, I know you will as well.
I am so excited to finally share what has had me so busy for the last few weeks! I have partnered with Joss and Main to bring you a patio makeover of sorts. Today is stop #7 of #10days10patios, if you are coming from Lucy’s blog, welcome! She did an incredible job with her patio, I wish she lived closer, we could sip some cold drinks and catch up for a while, her backyard is perfect for that now:). Be sure to hop on over to Country Living, they are hosting this amazing group of summer patio tours as well! If you would like to take this makeover tour start to finish you can head over to Ella Claire, our gracious host for this event.
I know you have been eagerly awaiting the details on my Pea Gravel Patio, this was not only easy but gave us the biggest bang for our buck. Thank you for all of your sweet comments about my Backyard Reveal, I have had SO many questions about this DIY project and hopefully I will answer them all in this post.
Hi friends, I have some exciting news to share! City Farmhouse is now on YouTube! I have been wanting to start a design series on my YouTube channel for a while but if I am being honest, fear held me back. Not of being in front of the camera but of being able to create the videos myself. I am a creative, not so much a tech person and so the mere thought of the process, start to finish hurt my brain, but to my surprise creating videos is a lot of fun!
Happy May! Emily here from The Wicker House and I have a cute teacher gift to share with you today. My boys get out of school at the end of the month and I’m blown away because that is just weeks away! Where does the time go? My boys are pretty excited to get started on their summer vacation but they are also a bit sad to have to say goodbye to their teachers. They both have such wonderful teachers and so I have come up with a sweet little gift that they can give to them on the last day of school.
Hello! Brooke from Nesting with Grace here. I have been thinking about Mother’s Day, it’s rare for me to think this far ahead but I live far away from my Mom so I have to be…
Today is the day! I am finally revealing Jack’s Modern Coastal Bedroom, the before & afters and all of the sources! It has been a few months in the making so I am super excited to share this makeover with all of you, mostly because I LOVE how it turned out. Before his space lacked, in every sense of the word. We kept a queen size bed in his room for “company” but rarely used it for such. The walls were blah and it was very uninspiring. As Jack got older I really wanted a space that felt creative and fun. A place he could get away and read or play his Lego’s. I also wanted it to reflect the things he loves, like the ocean and sea creatures, mostly sharks:).
As most of you know I have been busy working on my boys rooms. It seems like these makeovers have taken me months, I have waited so long to do these rooms that I want to do it right. I don’t like to rush design, that is when I make mistakes. Plus, it is way more fun to be deliberate about the things you plan, choose and eventually select. For me the hunt is my idea of a good time, anyone else? So you can imagine my excitement when I found these stunning & playful whale prints below from Minted. Since I was/am going for a modern coastal look in Jack’s room I loved the abstract nature of these watercolor prints. I can just picture these in a beach house that has a rustic, modern aesthetic, can’t you? In any case they are just perfect, so I had to share.
When I was asked to be a part of Beth’s Thrifty for Under $50 blog hop I was thrilled! Who doesn’t love a good challenge and an excuse to save some money? I know I do! Since I was in the middle of Jack’s Modern Coastal Room Makeover I thought why not go bold and paint his dresser I bought for a steal, navy blue.
Hi there friends! I am finally ready to share the inspiration board for Jack’s room! I probably should have done this a little sooner as we are almost ready for the reveal but never the less, I think it’s nice to see the design elements separately in a mood board. We were going for a functional space that felt fresh, playful and modern, oh yeah and coastal too. We live coastally and it’s a huge part of our life, through every season we find ways to explore the beach plus Jack LOVES ocean life so I thought let’s do a modern take on coastal with a surf + turf color palette would make it feel naturally connected.
