A few weeks ago I shared my Fall Dining Room, which was by far one of the most fun seasonal rooms I have decorated. I had many favorites which made the space feel cozy & layered, perfect for fall. I created a macramé wall hanging, an original watercolor print with vibrant fall hues and made a unique table runner from West Elm carpet square samples I bought for just a few dollars each.

Fall has always been my favorite season for the sheer fact that it’s a slower pace & a great time for reflection. After the business of summer it’s nice to get to know myself again, if that makes any sense. There are so many incredible things about autumn that awaken my senses, it is hard not to be inspired.
One idea that has inspired me lately is textile art or macramé. I am a texture nut and nothing says fall like an abundance of cozy textures. I decided to try it and I am so glad I did because not only is it fun but it’s easy.

I came back from Haven a few weeks ago with this “I can” attitude and decided I am finally going to DIY the floating bench under my stairs that I have been wanting to do for a long while but was scared. And I am so glad I did!!! I am not sure what I was scared of but I do realize the best way to tackle fear is by just going for it, with a detailed plan of course!
Today is the day, I am finally revealing my front door color. People often say (including me) that it is just paint but it is still a commitment, so when it comes to selecting the right color it is always best to do a little homework, I call it color research. As you know I was torn between 4 tones, which were all a variation of my favorite hue, navy. Drum roll please…I ended up choosing Sherwin-Williams Anchors Aweigh. I have to say this was a tough choice, Sherwin-Williams has some incredible navys, but at the end of the day I wanted a rich, dark blue that could work all year round with the changing faces of my front porch.

Family photos can bring life and meaning into a home, they can tell a story & make an ordinary space feel loved and appreciated. A few summers ago I had an amazing photographer friend of mine Michele Kats take photos of my family & I at the beach. It was a place I spent a lot of time as a child, as did my father and then my own when we moved back from Colorado. I felt so blessed leaving the session, before even knowing what they would look like. These memories continue to be a gift for us as we cherish looking at them each and every time. I have printed a few here & there but to be honest I have always wanted to do something bigger with them. I am excited to be partnering with Minwax on this post as a part of their Made With Love campaign. The fun thing about this project, I brought a beautiful memory that spans 3 generations into my home and did it all for under $50.
Today I am finally revealing Shane’s Tween Room! If you remember I shared his mood board a few months ago, so sorry to keep you all in suspense for this long. Shane just turned 11, so I wanted to give him a space that felt comfortable & cool as he heads into his teen years. He really wanted a loft bed, a couch and fun seating options (for when his friends come over) along with some rustic touches. There is still a love for Star Wars and anything sports related so we layered that in as well. I partnered with ATG to turn this once uninspiring boys room into a tween’s dream space and we both couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out!
