I came back from Haven a few weeks ago with this “I can” attitude and decided I am finally going to DIY the floating bench under my stairs that I have been wanting to do for a long while but was scared. And I am so glad I did!!! I am not sure what I was scared of but I do realize the best way to tackle fear is by just going for it, with a detailed plan of course!

People often say (including me) that it is just paint but it is still a commitment, so when it comes to selecting the right color it is always best to do a little homework, I call it color research. As you know I was torn between 4 tones, which were all a variation of my favorite hue, navy. Drum roll please…I ended up choosing Sherwin-Williams Anchors Aweigh. I have to say this was a tough choice, Sherwin-Williams has some incredible navys, but at the end of the day I wanted a rich, dark blue that could work all year round with the changing faces of my front porch.

Today I am finally revealing Shane’s Tween Room! If you remember I shared his mood board a few months ago, so sorry to keep you all in suspense for this long. Shane just turned 11, so I wanted to give him a space that felt comfortable & cool as he heads into his teen years. He really wanted a loft bed, a couch and fun seating options (for when his friends come over) along with some rustic touches. There is still a love for Star Wars and anything sports related so we layered that in as well. I partnered with ATG to turn this once uninspiring boys room into a tween’s dream space and we both couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out!
I am so excited to finally share what has had me so busy for the last few weeks! I have partnered with Joss and Main to bring you a patio makeover of sorts. Today is the day! I am finally revealing Jack’s Modern Coastal Bedroom, the before & afters and all of the sources! It has been a few months in the making so I am super excited to share this makeover with all of you, mostly because I LOVE how it turned out. Before his space lacked, in every sense of the word. We kept a queen size bed in his room for “company” but rarely used it for such. The walls were blah and it was very uninspiring. As Jack got older I really wanted a space that felt creative and fun. A place he could get away and read or play his Lego’s. I also wanted it to reflect the things he loves, like the ocean and sea creatures, mostly sharks:).
When I was asked to be a part of Beth’s Thrifty for Under $50 blog hop I was thrilled! Who doesn’t love a good challenge and an excuse to save some money? I know I do! Since I was in the middle of Jack’s Modern Coastal Room Makeover I thought why not go bold and paint his dresser I bought for a steal, navy blue.
Hi there friends! I am finally ready to share the inspiration board for Jack’s room! I probably should have done this a little sooner as we are almost ready for the reveal but never the less, I think it’s nice to see the design elements separately in a mood board. We were going for a functional space that felt fresh, playful and modern, oh yeah and coastal too. We live coastally and it’s a huge part of our life, through every season we find ways to explore the beach plus Jack LOVES ocean life so I thought let’s do a modern take on coastal with a surf + turf color palette would make it feel naturally connected.
