It seems the decisions for the den are never ending lately. I am not complaining at all because I love all of this but do you ever feel stuck? Like you have been making so many BIG decisions that your brain gets kind of fried? Well, that is how I am feeling right now. I have a bit of a paint dilemma, to go light or dark for the den walls. And I could use your help.
Growing up we spent a good deal of time in the “Hamptons.” We weren’t of wealth or prominence we just liked spending time out there. Of course it was different back then but more or less the same. My aunt & uncle lived in Southampton and we spent a few weeks of the summer with friends in Montauk. And then on those occasions we drove out as a family to walk the quaint streets of East Hampton, Sag Harbor and/or Amagansett to end the evening with a nice dinner. Fast forward a few decades and we are still doing the same thing. Only this time there is a little real-estate stalking involved, haha.

My little Jack went to soccer on Saturday and scored 2 goals. He told me he woke up and believed he could & that is how he did it. I wanted to cry, it was such a special moment as a mom. As grown ups we fear things that seem hard or undoable, whatever it may be. I came back from Haven a few weeks ago with this “I can” attitude and decided I am finally going to DIY the floating bench under my stairs that I have been wanting to do for a long while but was scared. And I am so glad I did!!! I am not sure what I was scared of but I do realize the best way to tackle fear is by just going for it, with a detailed plan of course!
Today is the day, I am finally revealing my front door color. People often say (including me) that it is just paint but it is still a commitment, so when it comes to selecting the right color it is always best to do a little homework, I call it color research. As you know I was torn between 4 tones, which were all a variation of my favorite hue, navy. Drum roll please…I ended up choosing Sherwin-Williams Anchors Aweigh. I have to say this was a tough choice, Sherwin-Williams has some incredible navys, but at the end of the day I wanted a rich, dark blue that could work all year round with the changing faces of my front porch.

Today I am finally revealing Shane’s Tween Room! If you remember I shared his mood board a few months ago, so sorry to keep you all in suspense for this long. Shane just turned 11, so I wanted to give him a space that felt comfortable & cool as he heads into his teen years. He really wanted a loft bed, a couch and fun seating options (for when his friends come over) along with some rustic touches. There is still a love for Star Wars and anything sports related so we layered that in as well. I partnered with ATG to turn this once uninspiring boys room into a tween’s dream space and we both couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out!
I am so excited to finally share what has had me so busy for the last few weeks! I have partnered with Joss and Main to bring you a patio makeover of sorts.
