Sydney’s Teen Room Reveal With Sherwin-Williams + PB Teen
Today is the day! After much suspense I am finally sharing Sydney’s Teen Room Reveal with Sherwin-Williams and Pottery Barn Teen as a part of National Painting Week!! In my last post I introduced Sydney, shared some before shots and a little peek inside the makeover. In just a few short weeks we transformed a once very boyish space into a girl’s bedroom dream! To be able to create a space for Sydney to enjoy through her teen years brought me such joy, I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything!
Ok, on to the reveal….
Are you ready?!
This space prior to the makeover belonged to Sydney’s brother. She longed for a larger space, so both of her brothers moved rooms to be able to give her this space. They are the kindest family!
This is what the room looked like before….
And what it looks like now!!!
Another before…
Another after….
The best part about this makeover was that Sydney did not want to see her new teen room until it was ALL done! She never peeked, not once, how amazing is that?! It made the reveal even more fun for everyone involved.
The starting point for this room was Sydney’s love of purple. My goal was to keep it a light, bright and happy space so I picked a pale lilac, Sherwin-Williams Silver Peony SW 6547 for the walls and Pure White SW 7005 for the batten board.
Silver Peony
Pure White
Once I had the paints selected came time for the furniture and bedding. The gold canopy bed was something Sydney’s mom Jean thought she would love. I decided to pair it with casual bedding with lots of texture.
The Organic Dandelion Duvet Cover & Sham is perfect with the chambray quilt and shams, it is a look that will take her right through her teen years. Of course we had to add a little faux fur to keep things fun.
All of the furniture is in simple white which gives a subtle contrast with the batten board walls.
This Faux Fur Bean Bag Chair was another must for the space. I created a cozy little nook with the lilac throw and Explore Pillow I also hung terrariums from the ceiling for a playful touch.
Ahh…this desk area is so cool!!! The XO Sign is another fun detail I knew she would love. I gave her a gold task lamp, a Lucite swivel chair and added some meaningful accessories.
I found this GROW planter and added a few succulents, they are low maintenance and add an organic element.
An art piece Sydney made in 2nd grade pretty much sums up what an amazing person she is!
This beautiful scalloped mirror complements the lines of the canopy bed. I added glass knobs to the Lilac Dresser to glam it up a bit and compliment the other textures in the room. The dresser is extra wide and gives a ton of additional storage, which is much needed in a teen room.
Love those hanging terrariums!
On the dresser are sweet mementos, one of which is a picture from Sydney’s trip with her family to Universal Studios from Make a Wish.
I think this picture says it all!
