Daisy Mae Belle-Style House September
I’m totally thrilled to be here today!
I find Jen’s blog to be one of the most inspiring in blog world.
I fell in love with the name of her blog…
…before I ever saw her blog.
City Farmhouse.
Perfect.
Hi!
I’m Melissa from Daisy Mae Belle.
And, I share my home and projects over at
I happen to live right in the middle of the suburbs…
…but I like to pretend that I live in a farmhouse out in the middle of nowhere.
I sure wish you could stop by for real!
I’d love to meet you and show you around!
I’d tell you about our dining room table.
It was the very table that my husband grew up eating all of his meals at.
It’s the first thing that I painted with chalk paint,
and I’d like to paint it again!
I’ve learned a few things about painting furniture since then. 🙂
I’d show you this table that I bought from a friend,
and tell you how special those shells are to us.
My family goes to the beach every year in the fall,
and those shells represent lots of walks with our girls.
I’d show you one of my many gallery walls,
and tell you how I’ve always tended to have gallery walls.
I didn’t know that’s what you called them until recently…
…I just like to hang a lot of pictures!
See what I mean?
More gallery walls. 🙂
I’d show you the first kitchen table that my husband and I bought.
And, tell you how it’s now in our family room,
because with 3 girls, the artwork and homework were always taking over our kitchen table.
And, we really like to eat our dinners at the kitchen table when we can!
I’d show you some of my dried hydrangeas,
and tell you about my crazy big hydrangea bush that blooms hundreds of blooms every year.
And, how I always have more hydrangeas than I know what to do with.
And, I’m always looking for people to give them to. 🙂
I’d tell you about my new granite countertops and brick backsplash.
And, how when I was looking for brick for this backsplash
no one here in Murfreesboro had ever heard of brick backsplashes,
and how I finally had to drive to Nashville to find what I was looking for.
I’d show you my pantry.
And tell you about my sweet dad that just built new shelves these for me,
and how I couldn’t be more thrilled with the organization!
I’d show you Daisy’s room.
And tell you how she’s constantly redecorating things in here.
The latest addition is the chalkboard wall. 🙂
And, I’d show you Anna Belle’s room.
I’d tell you how she just turned 12 and was ready for a room update.
She didn’t want to really pick anything out.
She just gave me these guidelines:
-bright colors
-not too pink
She is pleased with the results.
And, then I’d hope you’d be able to stay for dinner.
We could sit out here in my backyard
and I could hear all about you!
Life to the full!
Melissa

I adore that outdoor area and all the gallery walls!!! LOVE!!!
Beautiful home! Thanks for the tour!
Thanks so much for allowing me to share my home! I think your blog is one of the most beautiful around! Life to the full! Melissa
Love the three oval iron stone plates on the big graphic brown/white fabric inside the pretty frame. Great looking.
My 85 year old Mom’s cousin’s name was Daisy Mae. My Mother says when they were growing up, she was always so jealous and wished that she had been called Daisy! She thought her own name was too old fashioned: Marianna.
Naturally, I love both of those names, but would never have have chosen Judy for myself 🙂
Love it all.
Love you style….warm, welcoming
Lovely outdoor area!!!! Great house!!! 🙂
Omg to that outdoor space, Daisie’s room and that pantry! Adore it! And the rest is beautiful too!
Thanks for the tour! Nice rooms, much of a vintage! That’s what I love about vintage, the features stays the same by just cleaning it even if it’s ages ago.
What a beautiful home you have! Thank you for sharing it.
