Avocado Tortellini Salad with Fresh Vegetables + Garden Sage

One of my favorite early–June blooms is garden sage. Her grey-green, fuzzy, oblong leaves and woody stems stand two-feet tall with lavender-colored flowers that the resident bees just loooove. If you fancy yourself an edible garden, sage is a pretty perennial “subshrub” I’d highly recommend.
With sage blooms come all the feels of summer. Independence Day is just around the bend and, girl, you know the gatherings are soon to roll in—picnics, potlucks and barbecues, OH MY!
What shall you bring?! Look no more. This avocado tortellini salad with fresh vegetables and garden sage is as fresh as it is filling and sure to be a crowd pleaser.

Modern Wood Slatted Outdoor Privacy Screen: Details On How To Build

Hi there friends! Last summer I shared the reveal on our modern wood slatted outdoor privacy screen. Since then I have had tons of questions about it, so I thought it was time to share some details on how to build it. The screen is contemporary & open and yet still feels private, which is nice because it allows me to see the boys and dog on the other side of the yard, while still maintaining some layer of seclusion. Plus, it has a clean & simple aesthetic which I think compliments my style.

BHG Makeover: DIY Custom Built-In Wall Unit

Hi there friends! You have been asking for a while and today I am sharing the details on how we (Robert + I) designed and built a DIY custom wall unit for the BHG makeover. If you aren’t familiar, I teamed up with Rebuilding Together to give a deserving homeowner (Karen) a FULL room makeover with a feature in the Oct 2017 issue of BHG. This built-in was a true labor of love for my PIC (partner in crime). I remember showing up to his house over a year ago on a cold, fall day with this sketch up of the custom built-in I had in mind. It was a shameful rendering but he got it, right away. I knew then that we would make a great team (and we did). Not one time did Robert say no, I don’t thing so or can’t be done. And let me tell you, we hit a lot of snags and set backs. You can tell by the in progress shots below how we poured our heart and soul into this project. The biggest thank you to Lowe’s!!! For which without their contribution to this project, it would have never happened!
