Candlelight Christmas Mantle With Leather Wrapped Candles
If you follow me on Instagram and actually see my posts then you know my family room has recently undergone some pretty significant changes. Surprise, I painted my mantle green! And switched out the curtains. You can check out the recent before and afters. This is version one of my Christmas mantle lit by candlelight to set a festive mood. Are you in the holiday spirit yet? Well you certainly will be after touring the next 6 spaces, see the bottom of the post. Thank you for Kristen from Ella Claire and Co. for hosting this week’s Season of Home tour!
As I mentioned, I painted the mantle green. It is Benjamin Moore Forest Floor with a 25 tablespoons of Sherwin-Williams Rock Bottom. I know it’s an odd combo, but those were the two I liked but neither one seemed right. So I mixed them.
Next up the leather wrapped pillar candles. I had an wide assortment that were different shapes and sizes, so I had an idea to wrap them in leather for a warm, natural and textured look.
You can find the video tutorial HERE.
I bought this leather and this toolkitfrom Amazon. I cut the leather to fit, made holes in the back and laced them up. Honestly, you can buy faux leather as well just make sure it’s fire retardant and use any pointed tool. Only buy the kit if you plan on doing more with leather.
The large jingle bells I found at Target along with the white berry garland.
The stocking I found at the Pottery Barn Outlet years ago in the kids section.
I am loving the white curtains, it brightens up the space!
We created a grid wall last spring and painted that Benjamin Moore Calm.
The pillows are from my shop, the sofa Interior Define, coffee table Industry West and Sven chair from Article.

Thank you so much for the warm responses to my Fall Family Room Tour, I really appreciate all of your kind words! Fall has always been my favorite season for the sheer fact that it’s a slower pace & a great time for reflection. After the business of summer it’s nice to get to know myself again, if that makes any sense. There are so many incredible things about autumn that awaken my senses, it is hard not to be inspired.
One idea that has inspired me lately is textile art or macramé. I am a texture nut and nothing says fall like an abundance of cozy textures. I decided to try it and I am so glad I did because not only is it fun but it’s easy.
