Catch of the Day: Martine’s Braised Fish with Rice Pilaf

Catch of the Day: Martine’s Braised Fish with Rice Pilaf

It was a twenty-four hour sojourn to Martine’s quintessential New England home with one of my best girlfriends, Connie, who introduced us. There we were, three fine women sitting alongside the Quaimbog Cove in Stonington, Connecticut, fully present, laughing often, and chit-chatting about life over good wine in each other’s much desired good company.

New Modern Rustic Outdoor Privacy Screen + The Rest Of My Patio

Hi there friends! Today is the day, I am finally sharing my new outdoor privacy screen!! It’s a nice blend of modern & rustic and it gives us a little more privacy from the road. We live on a corner lot across from the bay on a very small piece of property. So any additional coverage that makes it feel like a retreat away from the rest of the world is exactly what we need.

Driftwood Sculptures: A Great Way To Hold Onto Your Summer Memories

Happy Monday friends!! I am so excited to share this fun, easy & super stylish summer project with you today! Our collection of driftwood has grown each year, as “hunting for treasure” is a favorite summer pastime. No matter how old my boys get they still like the adventure, you honestly never know what you will find washed up ashore. We have found some pretty awesome pieces lately and it got me thinking, what else could we make with them? I love dimensional & sculptural objects, they add a flavor to open shelving & vignettes that no other accessory can. As I began to see some of the driftwood we found together as art, we all agreed these would make beautiful wood sculptures. Plus it’s a great way to hold onto those summer memories for all to appreciate for years to come.

Chilled Avocado Mint Soup With Roasted Radicchio

It’s been one hot, gorgeous summer and the homegrown harvests have been nothing short of raaadicchio. See what I did there? I know, total pork (pun dork).
A free spirit and entrepreneur at heart, my 11-year old neighbor, Lily, has been working odd jobs for family-friends in exchange for fresh grown produce. When she showed up at my door a couple weeks ago with a head of radicchio, I knew exactly how to incorporate this beautifully bitter leafy green into a dish made for this hot-as-all-hell summer: chilled avocado mint soup with roasted radicchio. Queue drooling.

Summer Nook + Adding Functional Summer Storage

Hi there friends! I hope you all had a fantastic holiday! It seems as though I blinked and summer was actually here. I am enjoying the lazy mornings out on the porch with my early riser (Jack) and Denver. It is really nice to go at a slower pace and not be in such a rush. We have been spending lots of time at the beach already, which you can probably tell by Instagram feed. My stress level has already gone down and I feel like me again, yay! Whether it’s the beach, the pool or all the summer activities, this season comes with a ton of extra stuff. Beach stuff, camp stuff, pool stuff, sports stuff, it can be a lot to think about and put away. So I decided to create some much needed extra storage under my stairway nook.
