Hi there friends! We got back from our vacation to Florida last week and boy was it good! If you follow me on Instagram then you saw some of the highlights on my stories. We went to Madeira Beach & Treasure Island for 6 days. My goal was to relax, enjoy my family without my daily stresses, play at the beach, be fully present and read a book or 2. Long story short, I was able to do all of these things and more. I feel like a brand new person!

Hi there friends! Last summer I shared the reveal on our modern wood slatted outdoor privacy screen. Since then I have had tons of questions about it, so I thought it was time to share some details on how to build it. The screen is contemporary & open and yet still feels private, which is nice because it allows me to see the boys and dog on the other side of the yard, while still maintaining some layer of seclusion. Plus, it has a clean & simple aesthetic which I think compliments my style.

Fair warning, it may have you spellbound, spending way more than you would like on your next few visits. Target is one of those places in general I can get easily sidetracked, especially with home décor but this collection takes it to a whole other level, be aware:)!

Hello Spring! I couldn’t be more excited to welcome you back into my life! It’s been a long, long winter! I look forward to this blissful season and spicing up my wardrobe with something besides a chunky knit sweater and jeans. Hi friends, happy Friday!!! My search for a mid-size cabinet for the corner of my family room has come to a end. When I realized I wasn’t finding what I was looking for, although it was really pretty simple, I began to think of affordable wood options. An IKEA hack came to mind!! By putting 2 Ivar cabinets together vertically I could create a simple, yet chic library cabinet for the corner of my family room. Win, win!!!
Hi there friends! You have been asking for a while and today I am sharing the details on how we (Robert + I) designed and built a DIY custom wall unit for the BHG makeover. If you aren’t familiar, I teamed up with Rebuilding Together to give a deserving homeowner (Karen) a FULL room makeover with a feature in the Oct 2017 issue of BHG. This built-in was a true labor of love for my PIC (partner in crime). I remember showing up to his house over a year ago on a cold, fall day with this sketch up of the custom built-in I had in mind. It was a shameful rendering but he got it, right away. I knew then that we would make a great team (and we did). Not one time did Robert say no, I don’t thing so or can’t be done. And let me tell you, we hit a lot of snags and set backs. You can tell by the in progress shots below how we poured our heart and soul into this project. The biggest thank you to Lowe’s!!! For which without their contribution to this project, it would have never happened!
Hi there friends! Even though my current view is of our snow covered lawn, outdoor living is on my mind. On my weekly trip to Target the other day I found myself lost in their “outdoor section.” I spent a good 40 minutes there, taking pictures, thinking, measuring. Leave it to Target to once again cloud my mind and leave me wanting a complete outdoor makeover. Whether you are looking for a few modern-rustic additions or for an entirely new look Target has something for everyone. And we all know how good their prices are, especially when you take into account their ability to be right on trend.
Hi there friends! With 2 weeks straight of sickness I am finally catching up on some design projects at home. I thought it might be fun to share the “in progress” decisions, since some might not make the cut to an actual blog post. Some of the “design happenings” around here include deciding on a new sectional, an IKEA hack in the works and a quick gallery wall inspired by photo booth images.
