Pea Gravel Patio Inspiration
Hi there friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! A few weeks ago I revealed my pea gravel patio & since then I have had a lot of questions, which I will be answering when I post about how we actually did it. But before I dive into that I wanted to share some pretty patios that inspired us to make the choice to create one in our backyard. There are 3 reasons I love pea gravel patios, it looks high end but is very affordable {ours cost just under $300}, it’s a doable project for any DIYer and the texture it brings is unbeatable.
Here are just a few reasons I fell for this look….

On a side note, I am just wrapping up Shane’s room & finding the last few pieces it was missing. We needed storage and some vintage items, so after seeing the perfect army green trunk from WW2 at my favorite salvage shop I knew I had to write a post about vintage trunks. They really are a designer’s best friend, you can read my “clever ways to use trunks” article over at Better Homes & Gardens HERE.
I am eager to hear how you did your pea gravel patio! I am planning on doing one and have seen so many different specs – how deep the gravel should be, sand base/no sand base – I don’t know which to follow!
I am hoping to get the post up next week Karen and then you can let me know if you have any questions. Have a great day! Jen
We’ve always had pea gravel walkways. In our new house we have ripped out the entire yard except for a few trees. We are installing a pea gravel/bluestone walkway, a pea gravel sitting area, a pea gravel fire pit area. Can’t wait to get it all done and start enjoying it all.
I am sure Karen, it sounds awesome! I hope you enjoy it! Jen
We have had pea gravel at the shore for years and it is the only part of our landscaping that survived Sandy. I have now expanded it and built a pergola can not wait to use it this summer. You have provided some great inspiration. Thank You.
I can just picture it Cecilia, sounds lovely! Have a great day! Jen
