Rustic Glam TV Cart Makeover Into A Bar Cart

Rustic Glam TV Cart Makeover-Thrift store find at 5 bucks

Hi friends!

A few weeks ago while thrifting with my 9 year old in search of some mid-century modern chairs,

I found this AMAZING vintage TV cart.

The best part, it was only $5.00!

Ever since I laid eyes on THIS baby I was smitten with the idea of turning one into a bar cart.

Pretty cool right?

First I wiped down the piece, lightly sanded & wiped again with a tacky cloth.

I used Rust-oleum Painter’s Touch 2x Ultra Coverage in gloss for the body

& sprayed all of the hardware and casters first with a primer,

then with Krylon Metallic Gold {my go to paint!}.

The tray is from Target,

it gives function & purpose while repeating that rustic texture.

The bowl is another thrift store find for $1 & that was also sprayed with the Krylon Gold.

The DIY Beverage Cooler is from Lowes. It is actually a container I found in the paint isle.

I also used the Krylon Gold on the handles to give it that Rustic Glam look.

  3. Now why didn’t I think of that, drat it? Have seen tv carts few times at our local thrift store and passed them by, kick myself. Have found other items there also that have seen redone on blog land. Shame on me for not thinking further. Sides of that cart make it look some what better also. Great save and it’s awesome.
