Rustic Glam TV Cart Makeover Into A Bar Cart
Hi friends!
A few weeks ago while thrifting with my 9 year old in search of some mid-century modern chairs,
I found this AMAZING vintage TV cart.
The best part, it was only $5.00!
Ever since I laid eyes on THIS baby I was smitten with the idea of turning one into a bar cart.
Pretty cool right?
First I wiped down the piece, lightly sanded & wiped again with a tacky cloth.
I used Rust-oleum Painter’s Touch 2x Ultra Coverage in gloss for the body
& sprayed all of the hardware and casters first with a primer,
then with Krylon Metallic Gold {my go to paint!}.
The tray is from Target,
it gives function & purpose while repeating that rustic texture.
Mirror, napkins & glassware from Home Goods.
The bowl is another thrift store find for $1 & that was also sprayed with the Krylon Gold.
The DIY Beverage Cooler is from Lowes. It is actually a container I found in the paint isle.
I also used the Krylon Gold on the handles to give it that Rustic Glam look.
This project is a for sure favorite!
On another note, I will be taking the next 2 weeks off from blogging to enjoy my family:).
I hope to feel renewed when I come back & ready to share lots of new DIY ideas!!!

Looks great! I can’t believe you found the cart for 5 dollars. The mirror and tray are great too. Can I come over for a drink? Have a nice time with your family.
Gorgeous! What a great find and makeover!
I love this and what a super find. Great makeover and of course I love the gold touches too.
I love these old carts. I find them all the time. Totally have to think about painting one and keeping for myself. Great transformation and looks so modern now instead of old!
This looks beautiful! I love how you even spray painted the wheels gold to give them a little update too.
it’s perfect ! as usual…xo
Now why didn’t I think of that, drat it? Have seen tv carts few times at our local thrift store and passed them by, kick myself. Have found other items there also that have seen redone on blog land. Shame on me for not thinking further. Sides of that cart make it look some what better also. Great save and it’s awesome.
Good for you taking some time to be with your family. I know I’ll miss you but will be waiting for your return to see what you have up your sleeve. Hope what ever you do is relaxing and fun, enjoy yourselves. Happy days

Wonderful! Love the lattice style sides. I wouldn’t be BrocanteuseRose if I didn’t ask about those gorgeous roses. Did you pick them from your garden or are they from the market?
So perfect! Great transformation! I love the side details.
