Before the holidays, I stumbled upon a viral video about an all-natural oven-cleaning hack using pumice stones. They said it was the BEST hack of all time. I was curious, of course, so I tucked it away in my archives to try after the holidays. I knew January would be ideal for such a project. Since my oven desperately needed it, I scheduled it in my calendar and immediately ordered the cleaning stones.
Now, when I say my oven was bad, it was on a whole other level of horrendous. I honestly was leery that these would work. But I hoped they would. Oven cleaning just seemed like such a daunting task, one I never seemed to get the hang of.
You will need paper towels, a spray bottle of warm water, and THESE pumice cleaning stones. Make sure your stone is wet before you clean the glass. Other than that, it really is a simple and FUN task. I said it, and yes, it was actually fun.
You spray with warm water, scrub, and wipe. You may need to do an area twice because it’s hard to see where you missed. I even opened up the inside of the door. There are screws at the top, and I gave that a good cleaning. If you decide to do this, PLEASE be aware of the metal flashing; it’s razor-sharp. See the before and after below.
I would say the door took me no longer than thirty minutes. I think the inside is another thirty. You can use these all over the house: the toilet, shower, grill, and sink. You can watch THIS video before you get started. You can also shop my KITCHEN page on Amazon for more cleaning products.
