5 Scandinavian Inspired House Tours That Redefine Color

Hi there friends! Are you ready to welcome in a clean aesthetic with warms woods, simple lines and tons of cozy textures? Well look no further, I have found the best house tours recently with a Scandinavian vibe that will not disappoint. They will though, have you seeing color or lack there of, in a whole new light.

When I look back on the palettes that inspired me in my adult life it’s amazing to see my color evolution. In my twenties it was all about bold & bright. I loved color and used it bravely with tons of confidence. Then came my 30’s, I became a mommy for the first time and all of a sudden my aesthetic began to change. I wasn’t drawn to bright & awake anymore, instead I was inspired by more subtle & soft, almost pastels hues. Then came my 40’s and I would say a part of me definitely pushed the envelope a little with color but always keeping in mind my true affection for neutrals. Now I find at 43, I want clean, white and simple. I can’t tell you how refreshing it feels, like I am stripping away the heaviness and only keeping what I need. With that being said I am obsessed with anything Scandinavian lately, especially since the fundamentals of this style are based on this ideology. The great thing about this style is that you can blend it with other styles you love so seamlessly, such as coastal, farmhouse, bohemian, industrial, eclectic, traditional, just to name a few.

Here are 5 house tours I am loving right now with a Scandinavian feel and a modern mix of styles….

  1. amen to everything you said Jen, and you know you love it when your breath catches in your chest…all these did that to me ha!

  2. Hey girl- love the looks! So cool! I love pops of color in my house, but mostly neutral colors! I love red in my kitchen.

  3. I grew up in a home (and community) where white walls ruled and painting over wood was a sacrilege. In those days white was done because they didn’t know what else to do and had fear of trying. Once I got out on my own I rebelled against white walls and experimented with color. Now that I’m in my 40’s I’ve gravitated back to white walls and neutral rooms. I find that when it’s done with a purpose it calms me and allows me to breathe better. I still like pops of color, but in tones that aren’t distracting.

  4. I love the crisp clean look you have in your design. I too love whites, but also love those pops of colors mixed with it. Tank you for sharing
