DIY Birch Vases & Some Exciting BHG News!

Happy Monday Friends!

The BIGGEST thank you to all of you who gave your support last week

during Better Homes & Gardens Makeover Madness!

Even though I didn’t win,

you ALL made me feel like a winner:).

And the fact that I made it through to the Final Four

&

was able to take the trip to BHG Headquarters

was right up there with the best experiences of my life!

With that being said I have some EXCITING news!!!

On April 16th {Wednesday}

 Myself, Jenn, Karrianne & Diane from Makeover Madness

are teaming up with Better Homes & Gardens to bring you

a makeover linky party.

We each will share our tutorials

along with the linky party for all of you to share your projects.

Here is the exciting part-

it will also be featured on BHG’s Style Spotters!

From there each of us will pick our favorites

& share them the following week on April 23.

These 5 chosen makeovers will also be posted to Style Spotters that same day!!!

Isn’t this exciting?!!!!

Be sure to come back on Wednesday to link up:).

DIY Birch Flower Vases-Wrap Around & Glue {City Farmhouse}

I found tin cans that fit the height pretty good.

I then took a birch strip & wrapped it around, gluing at the beginning and end.

Twine adds a rustic touch, so I just wrap & tie.

I usually just eye it & cut off a good length. I like when it looks layered.

DIY Birch Flower Vases-Perfect for WEdding or Special Event-Burn Heart With Initals {city farmhouse}

I loved this part, it was so fun!!!

First I used a pencil & drew out a heart & initials.

I took my wood burning pen

& with the point bit I traced over it.

  3. I don’t have birch bark but Martha Stewart had a project for fall (few years ago) giving us faux birch bark to print out. If I can’t afford the real stuff I’ll print that out and fake it. Guess my old brain remembers things for a reason. Would love to have real birch bark tho and burn our initials, thanks for the link. Great post as always. I’m really surprised you didn’t win the BHG contest. Love your project.
