Rustic Christmas Farmhouse Porch

Rustic Christmas Farmhouse Porch City Farmhouse

Hi friends! The biggest happy Friday to you! This time of year especially I look forward to the weekends, so many fun things to do & to see  Christmas through my boys eyes is pure magic! Today I am sharing my Rustic Christmas Farmhouse Porch along with 5 other amazing tours as a part of Jen Migonis Hospitality & Inspiration- A Week of Bloggers Christmas Tours. She did an amazing job putting this together and you won’t want to miss these tours, the links are at the bottom of this post.

Fun & Rustic Christmas Porch Every season I decorate my front porch, to us it is an extension of the house and it is what we fell in love with when we first saw our home. It is nestled down a quiet tree lined street & across from the bay. It is a large farmhouse style porch with incredible views of the water. It seems crazy we would use it in the winter but we do, blankets & hot cocoa are a must though:).

As you can see from the porch, our main floor is lined with windows which also gives us a clear view of the bay from inside. Rustic Christmas Farmhouse Porch-CF

A few years back I began a new tradition with my boys. On the last day of school before Christmas we have hot cocoa & Oreos on the porch. Even though this is more of a New Years thing, I have us write & talk about all of the wonderful things that happened in the year. I feel like the holidays get so crazy, running here & there, that it is just a quiet day before it ALL begins to stop & reflect.

I LOVE this felt ball wreath, it did take a lot of balls though, about 325 or so. I thought the vintage hat was a fun touch for the tree topper.

  1. Oh how pretty. I love your snow shoes and the ice skates, how fun are they and the mix of plaid and fur is fabulous. Such a beautiful place to sit and enjoy a wonderful cup of cocoa.

  2. Ok, normally I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near a front porch in winter – I want to warm and toasty. But this front porch is just too darling to pass up!

    1. I hear ya Jenna! I am good at half hour intervals myself, my boys and husband could stay out all day:). Happy Holidays!!! Jen

  3. If you wake up one morning and find a strange woman camped out on your porch clutching her camera… just pretend you don’t see her.. 😉 This looks amazing! Also… You’re right over the water from us!!! I can’t believe it! We’re in Southport, CT right on the sound!

  5. It looks wonderful! I decorate my porch too, but I can’t say we sit outside in Dec.! Too cold here in Southampton, but I like it to look cozy. I put 7 ft trees on each side of the entry, with lots of Tartan. I don’t know why I do it, we are practically the only year round people on our street. It is nice to come home to the lights though, no street lights out here, so it is VERY dark!
Pop over this week to see my porch this week. I enjoyed seeing yours!

    1. I will Kathleen & thank you! I know we are crazy but my boys love being outside even when its really cold {not me so much}. Cant wait to see your home! Happy Holidays!!! Jen
