Modern Farmhouse Kitchen Barstools Revealed
Hi friends! I am currently knee deep in backyard projects, so if you were wondering why it has been so quiet around here, that is why. My backyard is getting a rather big makeover {it is/was horrendous} and I have partnered with Lowe’s, I am excited to show you more soon! I am also trying to enjoy the last few weeks before my boys head off to school, to be honest, I am not sure how I am going to handle Jack leaving me to go to Kindergarten. Every time I share this with someone, they tell me “you’ll be fine” and “he will love it.” I know that, but it is a very bittersweet milestone, he has been my buddy for the last 5 years, I will be a mess for the first month, I am sure of it. So in a nutshell that is what I have been up to. I hope your summer is going great as well & enjoying lots of much needed down time with your family & friends, after all that is what summer is all about, right?!
Do you remember THIS post from a few months ago? Well I am finally sharing which kitchen barstools I actually went with today! This was a tough decision for me, I wanted to strike that perfect balance between modern & farmhouse. I first decided on a galvanized stool but then realized the seat would be too small. Tip, when buying stools online, be sure you measure the seat width & depth and create a template using paper to be sure it is big enough for comfortable seating. I ended up selecting THESE stools and love the contrast with my cream cabinets. These stools are very well made, the back is curved and the seat is wide, so it is comfortable. They are heavy, my boys have a hard time pulling them out but the good thing I have found it that they don’t tip over and we all know that bar & counter stools have a tendency to do that & freak us out as parents of little ones.
These were my favorites in case you were wondering….

The long side of my newly painted white shed is against my vegetable & herb garden and so I thought how cool would it be to add some vintage/industrial lettering there. So to get me inspired about this project and to figure out what the heck to spell, I created THIS post over at BHG Style Spotters. If you have always loved the idea but wasn’t sure how to go about it, then you need to read this! I am also sharing 3 good reasons you should never, ever pass up industrial letters and design ideas for using them in your own home.

Also, I am guest posting over at Jenna Burger Designs on Creating A Meaningful Home, something I am not sure I have ever written about on my blog but shared at Haven in a session a few weeks ago. Be sure to hop on over Jenna’s way to check out what is goes into crafting a space that is pretty but most importantly comfortable for the whole family.
Have a beautiful week!
The barstools are perfect! And I can’t wait to see your backyard! Fun! I send my girls back to school tomorrow. I am bummed. I sure will miss them! I offer to homeschool them every year! 🙂 Life to the full! Melissa
Hi Melissa! I bet it gets easier but still… I love having them home, as I am sure you do as well!!! And thank you!! Have a happy weekend!! Jen

Thank you Julie! Fingers crossed:). Have a nice weekend!!!
Those are my favorite barstools, too! Also, when my youngest started kindergarten, I joined the PTA Board and accepted a busy position (Volunteers). This gave me plenty to do with home and family responsibilities. I got to be at the school and help out!
That is great Lisa, I know I will be busy at the school as well & excited about that:)! These milestones are too much to handle sometimes but of course a part of life. Have a fantastic weekend! Jen
Hi Jen,
These bar stools are absolutely amazing! They look terrific in your kitchen, you have a beautiful home.

Wow, thanks for sharing, Jen! These bar stools are gorgeous! I can’t wait to see your backyard 🙂

Just wondering if you are still loving these barstools? I’m thinking of ordering the same ones, but am hesitant because of the return shipping costs if I don’t like them. They will be used everyday, so comfort and function are key. Thanks!!
Hi Kelley,
I do love them & EVERYONE who comes in does too. I will tell you though they are heavy, that is the only thing but like I said in my post I don’t worry so much anymore about my boys falling back because they are so solid. Hope this helps! Jen
Hi Jen!
I just found your site when shopping for farmhouse barstools. I love yours! Do you mind sharing the link again to where you found them? Thanks so much!
Mary
Could you post where you got these? They are exactly what I l’ve been looking for! Thanks.
Hi Alli, the barstools are from here, http://www.industrywest.com/ :), Good Luck! Jen
I have been scouring online trying to find the *perfect* stools and was ecstatic when I saw these- PERFECTION! However, they must have changed the design since. The ”octane” stools now have a padded seat 🙁 Back to the search. So sad 🙁
Oh I see, so they were the octane? I saw the padded seat and thought they were something else. Darn I really want the wood stools in the first image. Did you have any luck finding ones like that?
Where were the stools from in the very first image of this blog?
