Top 12 Modern Farmhouse Barstools
Hi friends! Happy Thursday! I am currently working on a kitchen + dining room makeover and making tons of progress {cant wait to show you!}. I decided this time around to go for a more modern farmhouse look. I am bringing in lots of textures through metals and warm + weathered wood tones. And combining that with whites + linens and some fun modern art. My goal with my kitchen makeover is to make my traditional kitchen feel less formal and more “farmhousie.” I have cream cabinets + black silestone countertops and a HUGE island that fits up to 5 barstools. When we moved in I inherited the 4 white ones that were here and they have been very good to us:). Since then I have had my eyes peeled for some replacements but to be honest nothing really hit me until I found Industry West. OMG, I love their style + selection, so with that I thought I would share my favorites and a few things to keep in mind when selecting the perfect ones.

The first thing I needed to decide on was did I want backless or ones with a back. A trend right now is either a low back or backless, it took some time for me to get used to this, especially having small children. I like the sleek look of both + visual fluidity of seeing the bar itself but I also need to think functionality, we use these all day, everyday. Another thing to keep in mind is material, with a family I need these to be easy to clean and although I LOVE the idea of some pretty linen ones, with goopy fingers its just not practical. Color + tone was another factor to consider, I wanted a balanced color palette and seamless flow between the kitchen + dining room.
What a tough decision! Stay tuned!!!

Have a beautiful day!
Hi there! So, I totally love the white stools you are replacing! Where are they from? Thanks!
Thank you Lisa, Pier One, a long long time ago:).
Did you decide you want a back or not? That is tough to figure out for me as well! I love the look of the backless but would it be comfortable? Although currently I generally don’t sit (my adult son tends to and I have swivel ones and he’s usually wearing workboots!) – do I have to buy stools with him in mind lol??!! I like the dunlin….
Thank you Sandy! I love that one too but decided I do need some sort of back. Stay tuned:)! Have a great night! Jen
hey girl- I really like the habitus bar stool!!
Wow, I have to say, I love every single one of these!
Love…congratulations on your blog!
I loved the bar stool with high backrest rear. With this, I can rely when tired from work and sitting too long. I can come back refreshed and ready to work again.
All bar stools you show here are very interesting. Their design is modern and very attractive. Either are made of wood, wicker or plastic. Thank for your information.
