Spiced Dark Hot Chocolate{Perfect for Chilly Winter Days}
Hi friends!
I hope you are staying warm today.
We just woke up to a ft of snow and COLD, COLD temps,
so this recipe is PERFECT for today!
I am so thrilled to be a part of
Seasons of Home {Winter Edition}.
To share the stage with such amazing gals who I truly adore & who always knock my socks off
with their creative minds & hearts is a definite highlight!
With the New Year comes many new “healthy” resolutions.
For me I am always looking to stay on track & to make better choices but…
I have a sweet tooth & I REALLY love chocolate!
As often as I can I will choose dark over milk chocolate,
it makes me feel less guilty & I actually like it better.
Being that Hot Chocolate is a staple in my house in the winter,
I thought I would try to make it a little healthier,
here is a recipe for Spiced Dark Hot Chocolate.
It is easy & so CRAZY delicious!
This is what you will need….
Mix in a bowl…
1 1/4 cups of dark chocolate chips
3/4 cup of powdered sugar
1/2 cup of dry non-fat milk
1/3 cup of cocoa
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Use 3 heaping tablespoons to 1 cup of hot milk.
Stir well and top with whip cream & sprinkle a little nutmeg or cinnamon.
You can store in a mason jar so it stays fresh.
It is also perfect for gifts through the winter season:).
{You will get 10-12 servings from this recipe}
My husband even LOVED it & he is picky :).
Trying to tidy up after the holidays,
it is happening {really} slowly but at least I have my dining room back,
most of it anyways. Give this a try, you wont be disappointed:).
I hope you will head on over to my friends blogs today

Thanks, I think I’ll add some espresso to it too! <3
Is the dry non-fat milk really necessary? If yes, why? Just wondering because I don’t have any on hand but wanted to make this!
