DIY Rustic Chic Industrial Bartsool Desk
HI Friends!
Happy Thursday!
Do you ever have a project that just comes together seamlessly?
Every ONCE in a while it happens for me & when it does I get giddy inside.
So here is a little back story…..
My family room is a large space that is used for many purposes,
a desk is something I had wanted to make/build for this room for a while.
I had something all together different in mind but as I went for a run one morning I saw
a pair of metal barstools and remembered THIS post from one of my favorite furniture bloggers.
Then a few days later I found a beautifully worn, large shutter door that was original to a beach house from the 1930’s at THIS shop.
Apparently it had been hidden in the attic for the last 60 years.
I love when things I create have a story,
pretty darn cool!
So I had my essentials & this is what I came up with……
I sprayed the stools with chrome spray paint to give more contrast.
Click HERE to see how I refinished these dark wood legs.
I simply framed out the top to make it looked finished.
I had a cream color in mind for the frame but as I added the undercoat of stain I found that I really liked it:).
So I added a few more layers of different stains to give that rustic look.
I love how it turned out & it fits perfectly in our family room:).
