Today I am a mom, but I am also a daughter. So today, I would like to pay tribute to someone who taught me, molded me and loved me immensely, my mom Carol.
My dad often speaks of her, her kind soul and authentic spirit. He always says “she was a great mom, it was something she was born to do.” That is how I felt when my son was born. As much as he tells me that I never tire of hearing it because we are connected in that way.
I wrote this for her before she past.
A Mother is… someone who lifts you when you have fallen, who sees your spirit when no one else can, who listens but never judges,
who teaches you that kindness matters, who sees your strengths and celebrates them, who rejoices in your victories and shares your tears, who holds tight to your dreams like they were her own. She is someone who loves you like no other, for she is your mother.
These are some of my favorite pictures of her.
My nan and mom on the beach summer of 1943, my mom was 4 the same age as my son.
My mom age 6.
My mom and I 1976, I am 3.
My mom and I 1978, age 5.
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you motherless moms.
To those moms who have moms Happy Mother’s Day to both of you!
