The main characters of The Summer I Found You and what they love at the Holidays. Dahlia loves to make handmade ornaments and bake, while listening to Frank Sinatra, because it reminds her of the past and the people she once loved. Noah likes to decorate the exterior of the house with a colorful array of large bulbs that can be seen from space (you’ll have to read the book to understand the meaning), featuring his handmade wooden figures on the front lawn. And Harry, well, all he wants is bacon-flavored treats tied with a large red bow.
And Lil, if she were still here (RIP Diane Keaton), she’d place a large bright red gingham bow right on top to match her wingback chairs. She’d make her famous dried fruit wreath with greens from the yard and hand-paint beautiful, handmade ornaments like this because she was the artist in the family.
