Nothing says coastal summer quite like white hydrangeas, climbing soft pink roses, colorful flower beds, and well-maintained hedges. I’ll admit, I’m still an amateur gardener, even though I’ve been at it for a few decades. That’s why I loved doing the garden research for my debut novel, THE SUMMER I FOUND YOU. I can’t give away too much, but there is a garden that my main character, Dahlia, has to bring back to life. Since I’m always looking for inspiration myself, I decided to grow Dahlias for the first time. I’ve always been more of a vegetable and herb grower, but I thought it would be fun to tie in the book. So, whether you live by the coast or not, or are an amateur or an expert, here are some garden essentials to inspire you.
