Book Contract With Alcove Press
Well, I did it! I sold my first novel, HOUSE IN BLOOM! Eek, I still can’t believe it! After five years of blind hope, countless rejections, and deciding that giving up wasn’t an option, I have achieved the dream of a lifetime. This has been a long time coming, with many days I doubted my fate as an author. Through it, I clung to a strand of hope that told me my story was meant to be shared. And I was right, fall 2025.
Seeing the announcement on Publishers Marketplace still feels surreal. My literary agent called me two weeks ago with the offer, and I was shocked, to say the least. I pulled over in the Kohl’s parking lot to regroup and absorb every last detail, committing it to my mental vault. When you’re so used to hearing no, a yes lands differently. So until everything was signed, I didnt want to say anything. The book contract was signed officially on September 26th, my dad’s birthday!!! Can you believe that?! I made THIS video right after getting the offer. I think it was a sign.
Thank you for joining me on this journey to publication. The statistics are against a debut author like myself, so I am beyond grateful for this opportunity with my dream publisher, Alcove Press. Only about 5% of traditionally submitted manuscripts are considered, and of those, only 1-2% are published. That’s crazy, right?!
You can find more about my author page and HOUSE IN BLOOM. You can also read more about the writing craft books I used that entirely up my writing game.
Have a happy day, friend!

Congratulations Jennifer. The story behind the book sounds great! As a Long Island girl who has also lost both parents I can relate to your video. It brought tears. Your Dad was soooo cute. I remember you talking about his comfy chair. My Dad had one too! Life is a blink but I know your parents are up in heaven celebrating!❤️
Thank you Susan! Omg, yes, his comfy chair:)! It sure does go by fast.
