Cozy Christmas Den With A Cheerful Color Scheme
Today is the day! The first official Christmas post of the season!! To kick off this festive event I have teamed up with some of your favorite farmhouse bloggers. These posts are meant to inspire you, when you are ready to decorate. We get a jump start on decorating because of what we do, these tours are never meant to make you feel behind in any way. The biggest thank you to my friend Kristen from Ella Claire! She began this amazing series a few years back and I am always honored to be a part of it.
For years I have been showcasing my home for the holidays and each year I try to keep is fresh and a little unexpected. This year is no exception! The inspiration for this year’s Christmas theme came from 2 pieces of art I feel in love with. One is from Lindsay Letters and the other is from a watercolor artist on Etsy. Both have a cheerful color scheme that I thought was a little different from years past.
When you are decorating for the holidays, you can think outside the box when it comes to color. I pulled jewel tones from the painting above and added texture with velvets, faux fur, leather and knits, which gives that cozy layer.
I bought these ornaments from Target, they are from Magnolia Home. Add a little greenery and it magically feels like Christmas.
Both pillow covers are from H & M, they have the best covers!
This large piece is also from Lindsay Letters and it feels like trees in a forest of snow.
The built-ins I kept simple, repeating the warm wood tones, adding some texture and a little glitz.
We have been busy making beaded garland so this is a “real life” moment happening on the coffee table.
I needed a new green thermos, so I was thrilled to find this pretty little one at Target. Now our hot drinks stay warm whether we are inside or out.
Candles always create a warm and inviting ambiance.
I bought this pretty grosgrain ribbon on Etsy and wrapped the presents in a simple way, garnishing with some eucalyptus.
The sofa and chair are both from Article.
The sun changes throughout the day, it’s one of my favorite places to be when the sun begins to set.
When you are decorating for the season, keep in mind that large ornaments can also serve as accessories. The owl on the top of the built-ins are a great example of that.
See how magical it feels when the sun goes down?
Be sure to check out all of these tours, you will love them!!
