Robotic Vacuums-Do They Really Work
One of my resolutions in the new year has been to stay on top of the endless cleaning in my house. It seems like there are always crumbs on the floor, dishes in the sink, milk & syrup all over the counters, toys & Legos to be picked up and laundry to be done, even when I just cleaned the day before. Sound familiar? When my house feels tidy, my mind feels tidy. Anything that makes my life easier I am all for. So you can imagine my excitement when I got an email to try and review a new robotic vacuum. I have secretly wondered about them and always wanted one but probably like you, I was concerned, did they really work & where they worth the cost.
The robotic vacuum I have been using is called the Bobi Pet by Bobsweep, it’s an all-in-one automated floor cleaner. It is multi-functional, it vacuums, mops, sweeps and sterilizes your floor. And it is supposed to be great with pet hair, which sadly I wouldn’t know, we lost our Murphy last month, you can read about it HERE but we do have feathers from our down blankets and pillows so I think that might count. I have been using it for the past few weeks and………I give it a big thumbs up.
The pros…..
It’s one less chore to worry about, a huge time saver.
It is easy to learn & clean.
It cleans better than my big vacuum, even picks up heavier items and thread.
Great for all surfaces, does great going from hard surface to carpet.
The navigation is fantastic, it learns pretty fast.
You may have little helpers, mine love the remote control and they are really good at it, no surprise.
This one has a 2 year warranty and 60 day money back guarantee, which is an added sense of security.
Gets around really well and into some tight spaces and back out.
Way more effective than sweeping.
I know this isn’t the prettiest picture but I wanted you to see what it picks up.
Some things to consider….
Although I found it easy to learn, you will need to take the time to figure it out.
You need to pick up any cords and/or anything that could get stuck, which you would do normally.
It will not be able to get behind everything like small stools, so you need to pull those out but again, you would anyways.
They are an investment.
All in all, the pros far outweigh the cons in my opinion. The thing I liked was I could turn it on at specific times during the day, let it go and I could get something else done. And my boys like to help with it, they ask if they can turn it on and vacuum all the time, which is the best! I also love the mop and sterilizing component too.
Some other details….
It can cover up to 1000 sq ft
It can run for 1-1.5 hour at one time, per charge.
It comes with HEPA filters, which picks up any allergens and extra parts.
It has a sensor so it stays away from stairs.
There you have it, if you were curious if robotic vacuums work or not. My goal was to be fair with this review, I wanted you to have my honest opinion, I hope this helps.
This is a sponsored post by Bobi, product was given in exchange for this post, all opinions are my own.
Have a beautiful day!
Wow! I was interested until I saw it sells for 749.00! I will continue using my Dyson! Thank you for sharing!
Haha, I understand:). Have a good one! Jen
Thank you for pointing out some of the shortcomings and some of the different functions. Who knew a robotic vacuum could mop, too?It would be good to know how much of an investment is needed to consider such a convenience.
Hi Marianne, I am not sure what they typically run but this one is around $800. I have always wondered myself, so I was happy to share my findings:). Have a good day! Jen
Was curious if you used the mopping feature and how you felt it did. We have dark laminate floors and I HATE the way traditional mopping makes our floor look so was just curious!
hey girl this would be so cool to have!
We just purchased a new vacuum (I bought the multi floor dyson). I considered purchasing a vacuum like this but our house always has so much Lego, laundry, clutter etc that I thought this type of vacuum would lose the convenience factor. I also wanted something that could do stairs, furniture and mattresses. My mom has a robot vacuum and does like it but she doesn’t have young children anymore! I did not know it could mop. How was this feature? (We have dark hardwood so I worry about streaks )
Hi Marilyn, I hear you about the Legos and “stuff” on the floor, glad your mom likes hers, its a really great thing once you get used to it. The mop is great for an in between big jobs and I love that it sanitizes. Have a good day, Jen
We don’t carry that specific model yet, but have their others at around 50% off. Check them out if interested, thanks! http://robotcleanerstore.com/collections/vendors?q=bObsweep
Can I ask you where you got your rug?
