Recycled Christmas Projects 3 & 4- Coffee Fliter Trees and Rustic Advent Calendar

Happy Monday Everyone!
I hope you all had a wonderful & LONG weekend.
I have to say I enjoyed every minute!
I decided last Wednesday that I was going to
take the long weekend & just “BE” with my family.

Thanksgiving was amazing!
We snuggled in bed,
watched movies,
had a beautiful breakfast,
baked,
walked to the beach in our PJ’s,
&
had a great time with my family at my sister’s house.
I hope you had a wonderful day too!

I am SO excited for the holidays.
So much to look forward to & be grateful for!!!

On that note I thought I would share

COFFEE FILTER TREES #3
Last year after Christmas I bought a ton of these
craft paper trees for pennies.
They are fun & creative
and I love coming up with different
materials to finish them off with.
I have to say, this was a happy accident.
I started off making a Coffee Filter Wreath
&
got side tracked as I saw the pretty wavy filter scraps
laying there.
I thought, that looks like a ruffle:).

This is what you will need….
 & glue gun!
Oh and coffee
&
a small foam brush for staining.

Just press the indent of the ruffle into the glue.
Then dip your foam brush into
 hot coffee or tea
and gently brush from top to bottom.
I sealed with Mod Podge and sprinkled some glitter.

RUSTIC BARNBOARD ADVENT CALENDAR-#4
This was once an old window frame
I used for displaying merchandise.
I popped out the inside frame dividers,
washed it in a gray & white,
then lightly sanded
it to give a weathered barnboard feel.
I then nailed jute and hung petite banners I
made from scanning vintage french book pages.
FYI,
any book page will do,
and any paper will do.
I added bells & stickers.
As we countdown we will add
the bells.
My boys, especially Jack(2 1/2)
are already getting good practice.
And when Christmas arrives it will look
like this:)!

Happy creating everyone!.
Look around your home & see what you already have.
Have fun & enjoy being creative.
It doesn’t have to be perfect to be useful
& LOVED by  you & your family.

Have a great week,
Jen
