Hi there friends!! I am beyond excited to share some super BIG news!! The deserving homeowner makeover I did with BHG & Rebuilding Together , the issue is finally out! It’s in the Better Homes & Gardens October issue and the article is called Home, Sweet Home. Up until now I haven’t been able to share too much with you, just the basics about the collaboration. So you can imagine how ecstatic I am to finally spill the beans!!!
Hi there friends! This weather has been crazy, hasn’t it?! One day it feels like spring and the next it’s snowing. The good news is that spring officially begins in just under a week !! The last 2 weeks have been brutally cold and it’s time for some warmer weather, are you with me?
I have a few room makeovers I am working on right now, currently in the planning stages. One is with Sherwin-Williams for National Paint Week and the other, well hopefully I can spill the beans soon, eek! Anyways, in the process I have found the most beautiful, bright & cheerful prints for these spaces so I thought I would share my favorite 25 that are perfect for spring & summer or any time of year for that matter. Art can transform a space and buying art that is artist originated through Minted and Etsy makes your space feel even more stylish and special.
Today is the day! I am finally revealing Jack’s Modern Coastal Bedroom, the before & afters and all of the sources! It has been a few months in the making so I am super excited to share this makeover with all of you, mostly because I LOVE how it turned out. Before his space lacked, in every sense of the word. We kept a queen size bed in his room for “company” but rarely used it for such. The walls were blah and it was very uninspiring. As Jack got older I really wanted a space that felt creative and fun. A place he could get away and read or play his Lego’s. I also wanted it to reflect the things he loves, like the ocean and sea creatures, mostly sharks:).
As most of you know I have been busy working on my boys rooms. It seems like these makeovers have taken me months, I have waited so long to do these rooms that I want to do it right. I don’t like to rush design, that is when I make mistakes. Plus, it is way more fun to be deliberate about the things you plan, choose and eventually select. For me the hunt is my idea of a good time, anyone else? So you can imagine my excitement when I found these stunning & playful whale prints below from Minted. Since I was/am going for a modern coastal look in Jack’s room I loved the abstract nature of these watercolor prints. I can just picture these in a beach house that has a rustic, modern aesthetic, can’t you? In any case they are just perfect, so I had to share.
When we first moved into our home I remember feeling completely overwhelmed. We had been living with my father in the top floor of his house {my childhood home} which was probably a total of 750 sq. ft.,…
