Hi there friends! Last summer I shared the reveal on our modern wood slatted outdoor privacy screen. Since then I have had tons of questions about it, so I thought it was time to share some details on how to build it. The screen is contemporary & open and yet still feels private, which is nice because it allows me to see the boys and dog on the other side of the yard, while still maintaining some layer of seclusion. Plus, it has a clean & simple aesthetic which I think compliments my style.

Hi there friends! Happy hump day to you! I hope you are all enjoying your summer! I have a confession to make, I haven’t officially decorated my house for summer yet. In fact I am still working…
Hi there friends! As most of you know I just finished a makeover for a very deserving homeowner and with that came the fun part of having to scout for styling pieces. I hit almost every home store you can imagine of over the last month, Ikea included. I hadn’t been in a while and they had tons of new items, especially with a beachy-boho vibe so I thought it was only fair to share my favorites:).
Hi friends! I have teamed up with Joss and Main to bring you an exciting opportunity to enter their #designtheoutdoors giveaway!!! It’s worth $500 and just in time to spruce up your outdoor living spaces! Speaking of outdoor living, I just finished the updates to my front porch with one of their new outdoor sectionals and we couldn’t be happier to have the extra seating!
It is hard to believe summer vacation is coming to a close. My boys head back next week, so I am trying to enjoy every bit of time we have left. It is bittersweet as I look forward to fall and having a schedule & routine but honestly love having them home with me.
Speaking of fall, I am currently obsessed with kilim pillows. The thing I like about this trend is that there is a low commitment, by simply adding a few accessories you can get the look for fall.
Today is the day, I am finally revealing my front door color. People often say (including me) that it is just paint but it is still a commitment, so when it comes to selecting the right color it is always best to do a little homework, I call it color research. As you know I was torn between 4 tones, which were all a variation of my favorite hue, navy. Drum roll please…I ended up choosing Sherwin-Williams Anchors Aweigh. I have to say this was a tough choice, Sherwin-Williams has some incredible navys, but at the end of the day I wanted a rich, dark blue that could work all year round with the changing faces of my front porch.
Hi there & welcome to my easy, breezy modern farmhouse tour! The biggest thank you to Nina Hendricks & Country Living for hosting this incredible round up of summer tours this week. If you are coming from Cami’s blog, I am so happy you stopped by!
I am fascinated by where people live and what they do for fun, especially in the summer. So I thought I would share a little about our summers here on Long Island. If you are…
Family photos can bring life and meaning into a home, they can tell a story & make an ordinary space feel loved and appreciated. A few summers ago I had an amazing photographer friend of mine Michele Kats take photos of my family & I at the beach. It was a place I spent a lot of time as a child, as did my father and then my own when we moved back from Colorado. I felt so blessed leaving the session, before even knowing what they would look like. These memories continue to be a gift for us as we cherish looking at them each and every time. I have printed a few here & there but to be honest I have always wanted to do something bigger with them. I am excited to be partnering with Minwax on this post as a part of their Made With Love campaign. Today I am going to show you how your family photos can become art & a beautiful focal point in any space, along with a really easy way to create a DIY frame. The fun thing about this project, I brought a beautiful memory that spans 3 generations into my home and did it all for under $50.
It’s pretty amazing how one new thing can change the entire feel of a space. My front porch has always been a favorite spot to spend time, especially in the summer and now there is one more reason why no one wants to leave. We actually added something that I have been wanting to do for a while, a hanging chair! I partnered with ATG on this fun little makeover in the corner of my porch and we all couldn’t be happier, it is by far the BEST place to sit in the house.
