Hi there friends! You have been asking for a while and today I am sharing the details on how we (Robert + I) designed and built a DIY custom wall unit for the BHG makeover. If you aren’t familiar, I teamed up with Rebuilding Together to give a deserving homeowner (Karen) a FULL room makeover with a feature in the Oct 2017 issue of BHG. This built-in was a true labor of love for my PIC (partner in crime). I remember showing up to his house over a year ago on a cold, fall day with this sketch up of the custom built-in I had in mind. It was a shameful rendering but he got it, right away. I knew then that we would make a great team (and we did). Not one time did Robert say no, I don’t thing so or can’t be done. And let me tell you, we hit a lot of snags and set backs. You can tell by the in progress shots below how we poured our heart and soul into this project. The biggest thank you to Lowe’s!!! For which without their contribution to this project, it would have never happened!
Hi there friends! Painting has officially begun in my family room and it feels good to brighten up the walls. Sometimes all it takes a simple project to make a room feel awake again. One…
Hi there friends! I am about to hit a blogging milestone in March, 6 years!!! The design lesson that resonates most through this time is, beware of trends. With that being said I have seen a lot of trends come & go and many I was happy to see hit the road. There have been a few though, that stood the test of time, which is refreshing, we call these “evergreen” trends. One in particular that I loved from the very beginning is silhouettes and I am happy to say I still do. We have seen these traditional favorites done many ways through the years, so I thought why not update mine and give them a modern perspective using wood.

Hi there friends!! Christmas decorating is in full swing over here and I have lots of fun and easy ideas to share. Currently I am working on my family room and tree, which I decided to go with a Norwegian vibe highlighting blues, organic elements, light wood tones and tons of texture. Every year I try to create a tree that reflects my colors and theme while keeping it family friendly.
Hi there friends! I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving! Today is another Seasons of Home Holiday installment!!! Thank you to Kristen from Ella Claire for putting this incredible holiday bedroom tour together. I decided to take my bedroom in a preppy & playful direction this season. I used indigos, blush tones, creams, wool and organic greens to create a festive vibe that felt rustic and fun.
Hi there friends! I am beyond excited to be sharing my first Christmas decorating post of the season!!! Hi there friends! As promised I am sharing the easy tutorial on how I created a marbleized effect on the coffee mugs I just showcased in my Hot Cocoa Bar. I was on the hunt for green mugs and couldn’t find any, so I thought I would try something fun & different. I am also sharing my Rachael Ray episode date, which is right around the corner, eek!!!

Hi there friends! I know things around here have been quiet this week. I do have a very good & exciting excuse. But first let me catch you up on what’s on the horizon and share this round up of beautiful cage pendant lights I have been meaning to post. As most of you know I shared my new kitchen lights last month in an effort to show you that you can make simple changes to your kitchen that will make a big impact without a full on renovation. Lighting is such an important aspect to any space, especially a kitchen.
Hi there friends! A few weekends ago I attended the Made With Love staining workshop with Minwax & Bruce Johnson at the Habitat for Humanity Restore in Philidelphia. It was such a great event & trip that I wanted to share some things I learned. There were many things I came away with, things I never knew I was doing wrong that ultimately make a huge difference on how a project turns out.
