12 Classic Navys That Will Last Through Any Trend
Hi friends! Last spring I decided to paint my dining room navy, I felt like I needed a change. Don’t get me wrong I was nervous, but at the end of the day it was just paint. Truth be told, I did do it while my husband was away, just in case it was a mistake. He actually trusts me with our home but…I wanted the extra time to decide if I liked it or not. Phew, it wasn’t a mistake, it was the best choice I have made with this house yet. To say I love my navy blue walls is an understatement. Each day I walk through my back door and see the room, it makes me smile so big. I know, it is a trend right now but in my mind navy is a classic and looks beautiful with so many different styles.
Many of you may not know this but I made the leap to this creative career in my 20’s by opening an art studio, it was when faux painting and hand painted murals were big, so I was an artist/painter for hire. I have always loved paint and color & even though I have experience with it, I still find it tricky. I believe the best way to find the right color & tone for your room is to just try it on your wall. I buy samples and paint them right on. It takes me days to decide, I like to see how it looks in different lights and see if I still like it the next day. Another tip, if I find a swatch I like, I look it up on Pinterest and/or Google to see it in a real room setting.
I know how tough it can be to navigate through paint even when you have it narrowed down to a color, so I thought I would share with you my top 12 classic navy’s. Some tones lean towards gray, but I wanted to include them because they can be more neutral than the traditional “navy”.
I hope you found this helpful. If you have any questions at all just leave them in comments.
Have a beautiful day!
