Hi there friends! I am about to hit a blogging milestone in March, 6 years!!! The design lesson that resonates most through this time is, beware of trends. With that being said I have seen a lot of trends come & go and many I was happy to see hit the road. There have been a few though, that stood the test of time, which is refreshing, we call these “evergreen” trends. One in particular that I loved from the very beginning is silhouettes and I am happy to say I still do. We have seen these traditional favorites done many ways through the years, so I thought why not update mine and give them a modern perspective using wood.
Hi there friends! I have a fantastic before & after to share with you today! Living close to the water my backyard furniture can get worn very quickly. This year I decided it was time to give my outdoor dining table a refresh. With the help of my friends at Sherwin-Williams I was able to find the perfect color & products for this makeover.
Hi there friends, I have some exciting new to share! I am launching an art class over at Jeanne Oliver’s Creative Network and it begins today! It’s my very first one and it is called Instant Abstract. Remember that big art piece I created for my den? Well I am teaching you how to make it, along with the frame.
I am back with my last post of 2016, which I collaborated with Minwax!! Remember when I shared with you with my inspiration for my dining room and asked for your advice? Well I am happy to say we are moving forward with the plan of turning our dining room into a den.
Family photos can bring life and meaning into a home, they can tell a story & make an ordinary space feel loved and appreciated. A few summers ago I had an amazing photographer friend of mine Michele Kats take photos of my family & I at the beach. It was a place I spent a lot of time as a child, as did my father and then my own when we moved back from Colorado. I felt so blessed leaving the session, before even knowing what they would look like. These memories continue to be a gift for us as we cherish looking at them each and every time. I have printed a few here & there but to be honest I have always wanted to do something bigger with them. I am excited to be partnering with Minwax on this post as a part of their Made With Love campaign. Today I am going to show you how your family photos can become art & a beautiful focal point in any space, along with a really easy way to create a DIY frame. The fun thing about this project, I brought a beautiful memory that spans 3 generations into my home and did it all for under $50.
