Hi friends! It’s Christmas tree & family room sharing day!!! And another installment of the Farmhouse Holiday Series hosted by my friend Kristen from Ella Claire.
This is such a busy time of year, isn’t it?! It seems Christmas comes quicker and quicker each year and the push to decorate starts earlier and earlier. Right? In blogland we begin right at the start of November so you have plenty of ideas when you are ready yourself but the stores are catching on as well. It can be overwhelming and costly to buy new things each year, I know:). This year I decided to keep things somewhat simple and neutral, so that I could use some of my accessories thru the winter. My favorite accessory? You guessed it, PILLOWS! This year I layered my holiday home with tons of cozy textures, beautiful plaids + festive neutrals. Here are my 25 favorite cozy, chic pillows perfect for the holiday season + months after….
Can you believe Thanksgiving is just 8 days away and that Christmas is just around the corner?! Since this festive time is about to arrive I thought I would share some amazing recipes that caught my eye from my favorite sites. If you are like me and get overwhelmed by the amount of mouth-watering recipes that are out there then this post may help:).
The biggest & warmest happy Saturday to you! I have another fabulous giveaway to share with you today! The holidays are a time for giving so my photographer is giving away 5 FREE sessions!!! She is running a 30 days of Gratitude Campaign during the month of November, so for each day she is gifting a session to families on Long Island. And she is letting me giveaway 5 sessions!!!
We all will be entertaining at some point over this holiday season so I thought it was be fun to share some tablescape ideas to inspire your next feast. We all love the farmhouse feel so I have broken it down into 8 tips for creating a swoon worthy, rustic holiday table that will have your guests singing your praise.
Hi friends! I am back with another holiday reveal!! I am beyond excited to have partnered with Home Goods as a part of the Farmhouse Holiday Series to bring you a simple and cozy space perfect for holiday entertaining.
Hi City Farmhouse friends! It’s Emily from The Wicker House here and today I wanted to stop by and share our home’s calming paint colors with you.
The holiday season has officially begun as I kick off with my first Christmas post of the season. Omg, did I really just say that?! I know, I know we haven’t even hit Thanksgiving & yesterday was Halloween but we wanted to give you plenty ideas so you had them when you are ready. Thank you to Kristen from Ella Claire for putting this amazing group of bloggers together for this Farmhouse Holiday Series! Be sure to stop by the other tours at the bottom of the post, they are gorgeous!!!
My little Jack went to soccer on Saturday and scored 2 goals. He told me he woke up and believed he could & that is how he did it. I wanted to cry, it was such a special moment as a mom. As grown ups we fear things that seem hard or undoable, whatever it may be. Telling ourselves we can do it seems so basic and rudimentary that we often forget to do the very same thing we tell our kids to do.
Everything I create for this blog is all me and at times I doubt if I can do it. But there is a will there to keep learning & growing so I tell myself I can do it. Yup, I admit it woodworking scares the heck out of me sometimes. I do love a good challenge though, that is why I was thrilled to jump on board with Minwax this fall, to come up with 4 projects geared to inspire your future woodworking endeavors. My first was an easy picture frame for large images, followed by my floating bench and today I am bringing you the easiest DIY live edge bench ever!
I have been back and forth on something & thought I would share with you my dilemma in the hopes it brings clarity. There has been a lot of debate as to whether or not to switch up my dining room for a den/study area. I really do LOVE my dining room but it is rarely used. Most of our dinners are spent at our kitchen bar and if we have small gatherings it is spent in the kitchen huddled around the bar. On birthdays and holidays, when we host we do use it but I know I can create other seating areas to compensate.
A few weeks ago I shared my Fall Dining Room, which was by far one of the most fun seasonal rooms I have decorated. I had many favorites which made the space feel cozy & layered, perfect for fall. I created a macramé wall hanging, an original watercolor print with vibrant fall hues and made a unique table runner from West Elm carpet square samples I bought for just a few dollars each.
I have been blogging for about 5 years now and I still want to pinch myself each and every time I get an opportunity to be a part of something that I could have only imagined in my wildest dreams. To say I am grateful is an understatement. Who would have thought when I began this crazy journey, which I had NO clue what I was doing, that I would one day be writing this article about the Better Homes & Gardens Stylemaker event I attended.
Happy Friday friends! Ahh…how I love this day! Last month I shared my nook makeover along with my floating bench. I had so many questions about how I made the abstract art that hung above the bench that I thought it was about time I shared the details.
Oh my gosh, it has been a busy week! I shared my fall porch, went into NYC for the BHG Stylemaker Event and …..we got a new puppy!!! I haven’t mentioned this on the blog because it was such a HUGE decision that I honestly didn’t even think would ever come to be. We are slowing getting adjusted to life with him and so far so good, he is a sweetheart!
Hi friends! Today is the day we all get to share our Fall Front Porches, yay! If you have been following the Farmhouse Holiday Series then you know how incredible these ladies are in this group. Kristen has put the entire series together so seamlessly and I am beyond grateful to be included amongst such talent and heart.
Hi City Farmhouse friends, it’s Emily from The Wicker House. I took a little break from blogging during the Summer, but now that my boys are back in school again I have a bit more time to work on new projects around our home, like this one that I am really excited to share with you today. I have used fabric to create a stylish look to an otherwise boring picture frame that sits on my picture ledges, it is an easy gallery wall update that is very affordable.
Welcome to my rustic modern fall dining room tour & tablescape! The biggest thank you to my friend Kristen for putting this Farmhouse Holiday Series together! During the holiday season we will be opening up our homes & hearts to you in the hopes of making this festive time full of creativity & inspiration. I am thrilled to […]
Thank you so much for the warm responses to my Fall Family Room Tour, I really appreciate all of your kind words! Fall has always been my favorite season for the sheer fact that it’s a slower pace & a great time for reflection. After the business of summer it’s nice to get to know myself again, if that makes any sense. There are so many incredible things about autumn that awaken my senses, it is hard not to be inspired.
One idea that has inspired me lately is textile art or macramé. I am a texture nut and nothing says fall like an abundance of cozy textures. I decided to try it and I am so glad I did because not only is it fun but it’s easy.
