Super Big Exciting News + the Gift of Giving

Hi there friends!! I am beyond excited to share some super BIG news!! The deserving homeowner makeover I did with BHG & Rebuilding Together , the issue is finally out! It’s in the Better Homes & Gardens October issue and the article is called Home, Sweet Home. Up until now I haven’t been able to share too much with you, just the basics about the collaboration. So you can imagine how ecstatic I am to finally spill the beans!!!

This deserving homeowner makeover is something  I had been wanting to do for while so when a pitching opportunity with BHG presented itself, I knew it was the right platform in which to share my idea. Blogging has been a wonderful career for me, full of rich blessings I never could have imagined. With that being said I was looking to bring a purpose to what I do & longed to bring joy to someone else.

After BHG said yes, they brought in Rebuilding Together for the project, an organization that brings hope to homeowners across the country. I was partnered with the most incredible person Robert Harper, the North Fork, NY chapter leader. Robert by all definitions is a saint to have put up with all my wants for this space:). I couldn’t have done this without Robert & his devoted crew. We spent a lot of time with each other, especially towards the end & my life has forever been enriched because of it!

I want to share with you a little more about the homeowner Karen & her grandson Liam from Long Island, NY. This family touched my heart in ways I never knew possible. At times the journey was filled with many obstacles but we never waivered from the goal. Which was to give this amazing gift to the most amazing family. I witnessed the most selfless acts by so many involved in this project that it changed me as a person. And the gratitude Karen & Liam had for us made it all worth it, to see their faces as they walked into the room, all done for the very first time is something I will NEVER forget. You can read more about their story and about the makeover HERE.

I would like to thank my sponsors for which NONE of this would be possible. They believed in this project and wanted to be a part of giving Karen & Liam a space to grow as a family.

  1. Even tho my subscription to BH&G ran out I still buy it every month, wouldn’t ever be without it. Is all in all my very favorite magazine.
Good for you for realizing what your efforts did for this Grand Mother and her Grandson and working with other talented people to make their wishes come true. That truly says a lot about the person you are. Enjoy rest of week and weekend. Now am going to have our supper then make some new bathroom curtains. Made new bedroom curtains earlier.

  2. Beautiful home and story. Such a wonderful effort by you Jen, Rebuilding Together and all of the generous sponsors. I LOVE the photo of Liam!
