Den Reveal Part 2: Sideboard + Paint
Hi friends, I am happy to share that more progress has been made in the new den! The walls have finally been painted!! I decided to go with a crisp white to highlight the warm woods, organic textures and bold hues in the art and a few accessories. The goal for this room was to create a modern-rustic vibe that felt cool & casual, oh and comfortable too. Last week I revealed part 1, the linen & leather furniture combination from Article and today I am sharing the mid-century modern sideboard that was love at first sight.
The walls are painted Sherwin-Williams Pure White and let me tell you how much I am loving the change. The stormy blue was perfect when it was the dining room but I knew it needed an update once I switched it to a den. If you remember, I was torn between going light or going dark on the walls. I brought home a bunch of samples and painted them right on the wall. There were some darks that I absolutely loved but once I finished my art piece I knew a white would work beautifully.
Let’s talk about the sideboard. I wanted extra storage as well as I place to add a television if we decided to down the road. Right now the room functions so well I am not sure we will ever need one but it is nice to have options. I should also tell you how well-built this piece is, it is all wood, no veneers. I know good quality when I see it and this is it and for the price, you can’t beat it. This is a piece that will be passed down for sure.
I feel in love with the warm oak color and the simple, mid-century design. The abstract art above it gives an eclectic touch and brings in a coastal aesthetic.
The leather chair and marble table bring in even more warmth and texture. I have mentioned this a few times but this Sven leather chair is the MOST comfortable chair ever, it can be tough to order furniture online and this piece has consistently been a family favorite.
The bold art I made a few weeks ago compliments the piece. You can find out how to make the simple, modern frame and read about my journey to picking up that brush again after many years HERE.
One of the many things I loved about this chair was that it had a vintage quality. I was looking for a leather with depth and one that looked like it has a story. Any imperfections add to its charm.
This room was a collaboration with Article, all opinions are my own.
Stay tuned for the next den post, I will be sharing the rustic art I chose as well as the bold, designer pillows. Wait until you see the difference the white makes with the entire room.
Thank you for stopping by! Have a beautiful day!
