Happy Friday friends! It has been a whirlwind of activity here! Summer is going by so fast and my boys go back in less than 2 weeks, yikes!!! I have not even gone school shopping yet, I am in serious denial. The lazy days of summer have just taken me away and I have been trying to be present for each & every moment with my family. I am sure you are all feeling the same. There is just something so magical about summer, isn’t there?!
If you follow me, then you know I have a little crush on baskets. Who wouldn’t, there are practical & pretty. You can find them in just about any patina these days, old or new, baskets are a storage essential in my book. With 2 boys and lots of toys, books & Legos floating around, they are a life saver! When it’s time to clean up for the day, they are easily stored once again and would never know they are there. People ask me all the time if we use our family room and the answer is, YES!!!
We have baskets for toys, for firewood, for balls, for books, for blankets…., you get my drift.
And for beverages. This galvanized goodie is a favorite from Lowe’s, I just sprayed the handles gold to get a glam look.
I try to layer in a few vintage pieces whenever possible. These baskets I bought out on the North Fork of Long Island, where there are lots of little salvage shops.
These are from Home Goods, I taped off the lower third and spray painted them white for a color blocked look, they are perfect under my bedside tables for extra storage.

Just love the homey but clean look with pops of color! As I was scrolling down, I noticed a white fur rug… I cannot find one that doesn’t have the creamy yellow cast to it. I want one that is all white! Would you be able to tell me where to look for this? The last one I found is currently on its way back to One Kings Lane as I, again, was disappointed. I love using baskets as well. Your home is beautiful. We go back to school (one guy left in grade 11) and I go back to work (high school) on September 9th. I know what you mean about enjoying every last minute. Have a great week.
