Vintage Mod Makeover-Simple Tips To Get A New Look For Less

 Happy Monday sweet friends!

I hope you all had an amazing weekend.

With Spring comes this never ending need for me to move things around

&

change things up a bit.

Does this happen to you too?

If you follow my blog then you know how I love to mix

old with new

&

vintage with modern and traditional.

Through the years I have found ways to

“redecorate”

without spending a fortune.

So I thought I would share this Vintage Mod Makeover along with some

simple tips for getting the look for less.

Vintage Mod Makeover {Simple & Easy Tips To Get A New Look For Less {City Farmhouse}

1. Change out your wall decor

I find the easiest way to make a big impact is to replace and move your art around.

Every home needs a large rustic clock,

are you with me?

This one I found HERE at Gershwin & Gertie.

I has a fabulous vintage feel & it is a great value for the size.

If you balance a few splurges with DIY & vintage pieces,

you will get layered & authentic look.

2. Love the neutrals

By keeping my furniture neutral

& my color palette cohesive from room to room,

I am able to move things around.

And that always makes a space feel fresh

with very little money.

3. Pillows, pillows, pillows

This is a very easy way to bring in a modern touch by using some geometric prints.

Adding pillows can change the whole feel of the space.

You can find beautiful tablecloths, napkins & throws to use for your material

to keep costs down.

4. Shop your house

I found this wreck of a settee in my basement from my earlier decorating days,

{you know you all have these pieces:)}.

It was an unlovable dark rattan bench

& with some paint and a drop cloth it was transformed.

7. Fresh Flowers

Your grocery store is an affordable way to keep fresh flowers in your home.

  1. Great tips, Jen! I’ve been trying to use things I already have to mix up vignettes and change things up. I’m trying to be good at not buying anything new!

    1. Hi Kathy,
Thank you! It is definitely not easy at times but saves tons of $:). Have a nice day, Jen

  2. Now that winter is over I want to go thru all boxes in shed to find things haven’t been out/used for while to do some redecorating. Love that, seems like all new great stuff then. That’s if it will stop raining and blowing out there. I forget what all I have til I see it again then I have hubs telling me to get rid of it all. No way Jose. Sheesh. Maybe I’ll have to go rent a small storage spot close by to keep my decorating goodies away from that mean old man. Admire how you decorate your home so much. Relaxed but so chic. Happy week Jen

    1. I have a need to move things all the time. I moved as a child so my life gives me the need to move my house items around. So funny.

  3. I love your style, too, and was just talking to a friend about whether or not to paint mid-century modern. You credenza certainly answered that question. I love the clock, but couldn’t find a description on Gershwin & Gertie’s site as to whether or not it works. I would buy it in a heartbeat if it did or if it could be converted. Your rooms are just wonderful.

    1. Hi Ginene, Thank you, I do love it painted too! The clock does work:). Thanks again or your thought comment! Have a wonderful night, Jen
